Cockroaches
Cockroaches may be survivors, but they won’t survive our expert treatment!
Let’s face it, cockroaches are more than just creepy—they can actually pose some serious health risks to your family or business.
When it comes to the cockroach (those little guys are persistent), controlling them takes expertise and a whole lot of determination, mainly because they reproduce faster than you can say “eww.”
If you’ve got any cockroaches, you need to eliminate at least 95% of them in the initial treatment. Otherwise, they’ll be back—and with friends! Baits are super effective for these roaches, but you’ve got to get it right. We’re talking strategic placement in cracks and crevices near where they hang out.
Did you know that there are different types of cockroaches?
German Cockroach (Blattella germanica): These are speedy breeders!
American Cockroach (Periplaneta americana): Big, reddish-brown fellas who love damp spots. They are also aggressive, making control difficult at times.
Oriental Cockroach (Blatta orientalis): Also known as “water bugs,” they’re dark and enjoy basements.
Brown Banded Cockroach (Suppella longipalpa): They like warm, dry places, and you’ll find them high up in the building.
How to know if you have a problem with cockroaches
If you spot any of these signs, don’t wait. Give us a call, and we’ll bring in the big guns to evict those unwelcome guests! :
Live or Dead Insects: Pretty self-explanatory, right?
Little Pellets of Secretions and Droppings: Think tiny, dark pellets about 1-2mm wide.
Signs of Regurgitation (Vomiting): Yeah, it’s gross, but a cluster of small black spots is a telltale sign.
Egg Capsules (Ootheca): Small, dark, segmented globes around 5-8mm long.
A Distinctive Smell: If you’ve got a heavy infestation, you’ll probably smell it—it’s not pleasant!
The DIY Action Plan before you call the Pestinators Cavalry
Okay, so you’ve spotted a cockroach doing the tango on your kitchen counter or your office desk? Don’t panic! Here are a few things you can try yourself to kick those roaches to the curb!
Cut off their food and water supply. Wash dirty dishes, keep pet food sealed, clean all kitchen appliances, vacuum regularly and make sure your trash can has a tight-fitting lid!
Seal the cracks. Seal any cracks in walls, around pipes and along baseboards. You can also place screens in front of windows.
Use natural repellants. Cockroaches hate the smell of lemon oil, so add it to your mop water. Place bay laves in areas where roaches may enter. You can also mix peppermint or eucalyptus oil with water and spray it around.
If you’ve tried everything and those roaches are still throwing a party in your place, it might be time to call us. A full-blown infestation needs professional-grade solutions.
