Rats and mice carry fleas, ticks, parasites, viruses, and bacteria, and can pose serious health threats if the problem is left unattended.

This is one pest where you want to get on the rat race and address it quickly before these rodents damage or destroy your property and valuables.

The rodents we see in South Africa are the house mouse , the brown rat and the roof rat.

How to know if you have a problem with rodents

Look out for a few of these telltale signs:

Droppings – the size, shape and amount of droppings tell us a lot about the situation.
Greasy rub marks are a sign of a heavy infestation, as they use their hands to mark areas they travel and remember the paths to food and nests.
Graw marks are visible and possible damage to furniture and eaten foods, as the rodents constantly have to sharpen their teeth.
Sounds of rodents on the roof or underneath the floor
A particular rodent odour – you will know it is one, as it will not be pleasant.

Identify the presence or signs of mice or rats.
Implement a family- and pet-friendly baiting and control plan (for residential properties).
Implement a carefully managed baiting programme (for commercial and industrial properties).
Give advice on what you can do to avoid rodents from gaining access to your interiors.
